Wolfberries or Goji berries (as they are known worldwide) are the fruits of Lycium Barbarum or Lycium Chinense. Goji berry is an Asian plant from the nightshade family (Solanaceae). Its name Goji comes from the Chinese “gouqizi”. These berries were used even in ancient times. According to the Traditional Chinese Medicine wolfberries promote the enrichment of Yin (Yin / Yang), tonify the liver and kidneys, nourish the blood and moisten the lungs. The chemical composition of the berries comprises essential amino acids, as well as a number of vital trace elements - phosphorus, zinc, calcium, iron, copper, potassium, magnesium, sodium and selenium. Goji berry combines vitamins B1, B2, B6, A, E, C. Many recent studies suggest that wolfberry contains approximately 500 times more vitamin C  than an orange. It is believed that Goji berry has one of the highest vitamin C contents of any fruit in the world. The berries of Himalayan Goji herb have been used in the Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 2000 years as the most powerful natural remedy against skin aging.
